Brittany and Baron’s sweet St. John’s Wedding | Huntsville, Alabama photographers

June 28, 2010

Brittany and Baron were married on May 28 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Madison, Alabama, with a reception at the Roundhouse (which is part of the historic Huntsville Depot) in Huntsville. This wedding was especially fun for us because several people we have known for years (including the groom!) were either in the party or in attendance, so it was also a mini-reunion!

After the ceremony, Brittany and Baron invited everyone to a super stylish reception at the Depot, which featured a special drink–The Brittini! Everyone danced like (awesome) fools and had a great time.

Thanks to Brittany and Baron for having us, and we wish you guys many more happy anniversaries!!

Melanie and Jonathan’s Constitution Village Wedding | Huntsville Alabama Wedding Photographers

June 22, 2010

Melanie and Jonathan were married exactly one month ago today, and as usual, we want to celebrate by blogging their wedding!

The wedding took place at the Constitution Village in Huntsville, Alabama. For those of you unfamiliar with the area (I had never been!), Constitution Village is part of the Early Works Museum complex–this also includes the Huntsville Depot and the Children’s Museum. Side-note from Ashley: I actually went to Constitution Village on a school field trip and had a blast! I’ve been obsessed with the place ever since. I don’t think the 4th grade me would have even thought that the future would hold the thrill to capture such a lovely wedding there!

Constitution Village is truly historical in that, according to the website, it is here that “Forty-four delegates of the constitutional convention gathered here in a vacant cabinet shop on July 5, 1819, to organize Alabama as the 22nd state. John Boardman’s print shop, Clement Comer Clay’s law office, the Federal Land Surveyor’s office, a post office and sheriff Stephen Neal’s residence surround that cabinet shop.” So, as you can tell, this is a pretty cool place to have a wedding!

The reception took place at the Summit at Big Spring Park, which is also in downtown Huntsville, and WAS a place that neither Ashley or I had been to before. This group definitely brought the funk, flavor, and FUN to the party, and it made for a pretty stellar post-wedding celebration.

Megan and Brent’s Old Town Engagement | Huntsville, Alabama photographers

June 14, 2010

Dear Internet: meet Megan and Brent!

Megan and Brent’s engagement session took place in the Old Town section of Huntsville. We literally spent most of our time on one single street (Pratt, for those of you that are Huntsville-savvy), as very nearly every local store and coffee shop on said street is fantastic. Ashley and I are both fans of all things local and off the beaten path, and Megan and Brent were pretty much down for anything we wanted to try.

The two brought along their gigantic rainbow umbrella, which has a sweet story to it–it was under this very umbrella that they were engaged! So check that out.

One of the store we stopped by was Five Point Books, which is where a certain plastic yellow-and-brown dinosaur roams a potted plant or two. Keep your eyes peeled!

We ended the session at a playground right across from Megan and Brent’s home, which was perfect for us–a dash of where-you-are, while-you-are is a key ingredient to a magical White Rabbit Studios engagement session.

These two birds were married on May 29 at the Workplay Theater in Birmingham, and their (awesome, music-and-fun heavy) wedding will most definitely be blogged later this month–I’m thinking sometime around that ever-sweet one month anniversary.

Bridal: Mary Lee | Sneak Peek!

April 26, 2010

We shot Mary Lee’s sweeping bridal session in downtown Huntsville a two weeks ago, and it was glorious! First, we stopped at Railroad Antiques, and then moved to the historic Russel Erksine Hotel/Apartments.

Keep checking for the rest of the session, which will be up sometime in the next week! If you follow us on Twitter or Like us on Facebook, you’ll find out when we update right after it happens!

Behind the Scenes: Video 1

April 25, 2010

A few weeks ago, Ashley and I were asked by the team at Cake and Pictures to send a little behind-the-scenes video of us in action. We’ve never shot video of ourselves, so we thought it would be fun to incorporate a few of our recent sessions (Billy and Katie’s engagement session, Mary Lee’s soon-to-be-blogged bridal, and the engagement session we shot today with April and David). Anyway, here is the result!

We had a fun time with this, so look for more in the future!

Engaged: Billy + Katie | “Well, are you going to say yes?” Of course she did.

April 7, 2010

Billy and Katie are one of those effortlessly stunning couples–they are outwardly and inwardly beautiful, and very obviously deeply in love. They are getting married on May 8, and we could NOT be more enthusiastic about their impending vows–this is going to be one seriously lovely and loving wedding day!

They claimed to be nervous about the photo session, so I think these two must be naturals!

We began the session at Lowe Mill, starting in Beloved Community Bookstore and then migrated to Ashley and Andy’s recently relocated record store, Vertical House Records.

RIP, E.T. and Michael Jackson. Thank you for the poster!

And of course, our White Rabbit Studios staple shot!

Billy and Katie live four (or so) hours apart, and have done throughout their relationship. One way they kept in touch was via fast and furious emails, and Ashley and I thought it would be cute to pay homage to their digital letter writing in an analogue fashion–at the post office, with a (working!) tin-can telephone!

After leaving the post office, we migrated to Green Mountain. We didn’t know at the time, but Katie’s parents used to go on dates there.

Katie’s parents used to bring a bucket of chicken and watch the sun set–exactly our plan!

Would saying these two are “finger lickin’ good” be too cheesy? Yes? Can I say it anyway?

If you are in the mood for a beautiful love, story, check out Katie and Billy’s story here, and the tale of their engagement here. We were going to try to re-tell it on our blog, but sometimes…the original is just better.

Wedding: Sara & Jeremy | Birmingham, AL Wedding Photography

March 3, 2010

We shot Sara and Jeremy’s fantastic record store engagement session a few weeks ago and have been looking forward to their wedding ever since! I don’t think Ashley and I could have dreamed up all of the great details these two put into their day! It was truly a day filled with wonder, beauty, and love. We’re so incredibly happy for these two as they begin their life together.

Ashley and I were restricted to the balcony during the wedding–however, between us we have plenty of zoom lenses, and were able to get super close without physically being so. In the first you can see about how far away we were, and in the second, how close we can get!

Sara and Jeremy’s Record Store Engagement | Huntsville, Alabama | “…and Love’s the best sensation, hiding in the lion’s mane”

January 3, 2010

Sara and Jeremy are such a sweet, wonderful couple! The two drove up from Birmingham to meet for their engagement session, which took place at Lowe Mill (mostly in Ashley and Andy’s record store, Vertical House Records) and the surrounding area. We were excited to explore new territory–west Huntsville is brilliant!

This first shot was inspired by a session we did with my family, and is likely to become a White Rabbit staple! I think it would be great for Sara and Jeremy’s invitations, don’t you? ;)

Jeremy’s proposal is a bit of a long story, so I’ll try to condense it. As it was told to us, before they were engaged officially, these two had discussed houses. When Jeremy proposed, he started out by asking Sara what kind of house she would want. She told him that they couldn’t get a house until they were married, and this was the inspiration for these two photos!

Karen & Daniel’s Engagement | Huntsville, AL wedding photography | Happy New Year!

January 1, 2010

Karen may be one of the most laid back brides we have worked with so far–she emailed us to set up a consultation, we met the next week, and booked the wedding the next day! She and Daniel are getting married in March, and brought their family, Brody and Christian, to the session as well.

We shot in Big Spring Park in downtown Huntsville, which turned out to be a wonderful location for these four–the sun was gorgeous and streaming, and ducks were out and entertaining, and in general, we all had a great time!
