An English rose falls in love with a Southern cotton bloom and a wonderful story unfolds. Olly is the Rose, and Katherine is the cotton, and together they are an incredible force bursting with love. We spent the entire day with these two. From the early moments of getting dressed, to the lovely ceremony (that we couldn’t capture with our cameras, but witnessed with our hearts), to their family farm reception – smiles all around. Surrounded by their family and friends, Katherine and Olly celebrated their dreams coming true.

Along with the primary photography coverage, we set up The Looking Glass, which was a wild and crazy fun time (check out the video in the post). Katherine also wanted to have a “wishing line” in which we captured the guests with our instax cameras and the guests wrote the lovebirds well wishes and happy thoughts for their future together. It served as a wonderful alternative to the traditional guest book. Thanks to Dana, Suze, Sean, and Andy for making all of the extra photo magic possible since Stephanie and I can’t clone ourselves yet!

We were all so incredibly honored to witness their love, and now can’t wait to share it with you!

There’s nothing quite like a blushing bride on her wedding day, but that’s not to say a gal can’t be radiant whenever she’s in bridal attire. After all, it’s not everyday you can frolic in fields with a beautiful white gown (well, I guess you could…shall we now?!) You’ll recognize Katherine’s gorgeous smile from her and Olly’s summer sunflower engagement party. We loved that Katherine decided to have a bridal session! Not only did it give her a chance to wear her dress and try out hair styles, but we were able to capture her in a relaxed setting with no time pressure from the wedding day. Our eyes watered and our hearts swooned right along with her mom’s as we watched Katherine eloquently grace the front of our cameras. We started the session in an open field nestled between the mountains, and ended with the romantic sun setting in Katherine’s bedroom. It was truly glorious!

Since Katherine and Olly added on the use of one of our film cameras during their wedding (which we can’t wait to share – it was quite the shindig!) I thought it would be fun to snap a couple during the bridal session as well! Timeless beauty.

Last week we were not only lucky enough to meet Grace and Amy of Design*Sponge, but also to capture the book signing! I (Ashley) have been a loooooooong time reader, so this was like a dream come true! We enjoyed a craft demo from the book, and had fun meeting the folks that came to the signing. A local artist, Rachel West, created the chalkboard backdrop and it was fun to watch it fill up with messages and inspiration as the night went on.

We have put together some of our favorites images to blog about, but you can find the entire set here! Please feel free to snag any and all shots you might be interested in…and you’re welcome to share them online*!

Jaime and Stephen’s Big Canoe rustic and romantic wedding is nothing short of magical! The gorgeous Georgia mountains are a picture perfect backdrop, even when an evening shower rolls in over the lake – right as everyone sat for dinner. From the fresh herb bouquets and centerpieces, to the tables named after various plants, Jaime and Stephen’s love for gardening became the perfect personal touch to their special day. With such a serene atmosphere, and abundant lively love this wedding was a wondrous way to spend the evening…and we’re lucky to have captured every moment!

We were also really excited when Jaime wanted us to use our Instax camera to capture guests during the cocktail hour, and providing them a fun memento from the wedding. Of course we shot more than just that! Here are some of our favorites!

If you want to add a fun film camera to your wedding, contact us! We have everything from Polaroids, Instax(s), Holgas, Brownies, double frame, 4 frame, and other various medium formats and 35mms. Three cheers for analog awesomeness!

I (Ashley) will admit that I’m extremely lucky getting to work side-by-side with my husband throughout several ventures in our life, however, it’s always nice for a vacation. The two of us haven’t gone on a trip together (that wasn’t business related) in about 5 years. You can say that this beach trip was much needed. We spent a week with sand in between our toes, and the salty air in our nose. It was fantastic to be away from phone calls, emails, meetings, and computer screens. We were at the beach for Fourth of July, and it was miles and miles of nothing but fireworks blasting from the beaches and busting over the sea. The rest of the days were spent relaxing water side and enjoying delicious food among friends – definitely the vacation we needed!

I opted to only bring my instax camera and use my phone for capturing all the beach fun!

These are our “HELL YES BEACH TIME” faces! We left after working at the record store on Saturday, and got to Destin around 9pm…it was such a nice drive!
