That’s right! After receiving a few emails asking about such an opportunity, we are currently in the process of setting up interviews for our first ever White Rabbit Studios INTERN!

The Details: this is an UNPAID position that will last at least 3 months. While we can’t offer you a monetary salary, we can offer you TONS of knowledge and hands-on experience, which includes (but is not limited to) the following:
-How to pose subjects and clients without really posing them
-How to produce the image you want IN camera (ie: without using tons of processing)
-How to move away from what is trendy & make your work your OWN
-How to experiment and gain confidence to produce unique work
-How to work with the gear you DO have instead of being hung up on what you don’t have
-How to figure out what to charge and be paid what you deserve for your services AND to also do so in a way that is fair to your client
-Shooting weddings and sessions alongside us — we’re only looking for one intern right now, so you’ll get to shoot with us as often as your schedule allows

Requirements:
-You already own (and at least know a little bit about) a DSLR camera (this is mandatory; although the use and knowledge of film cameras are encouraged, too!)
-You have at least a basic understanding of shutter speed and aperture
-You are interested in photographing everything that we shoot — even if it’s not always something that fits your own style
-You already have a decent-sized portfolio of photos that you LOVE, and you’re willing to show them to us and tell us why you love them. It’s totally fine with us if your style is different from ours (in fact, we encourage this), and we’re not planning on teaching you to shoot like we do — we’re just hoping this will be an incredibly fulfilling and helpful experience that is part of your growth as a photographer and artist. You also don’t need to have weddings and portraits in your portfolio — we want to see what kind of photography you love shooting, and have you tell us why. It can be street photography, nature photography, etc. Bring it!
-You do not currently work for another photographer or own your own business
-You are available for at least 3 months. At that time, we (all three) of us will assess the experience and see if we’re all interested in continuing together
-You like working with kids, couples, individuals, families, pets, and basically anyone and everyone.
-You want to have FUN! (sorry if that’s cheesy, but it’s TRUE!)

There are additional details and requirements, but we can discuss those at the meeting. We’re hoping to meet everyone this month and get everything squared away shortly thereafter. Interns should also be prepared to fill a more “behind the scenes” role — basically, if we need someone to burn discs and take packages to the post office, you’re our person. It’s also more or less mandatory that you’re available to help us launch and host our first ever bridal fair: Hi-Fi Weddings (January 29!). You’ll get plenty of shooting action, but we also need someone to help us with ALL of the odds and ends of the biz.

If you like the sound of everything, please email us at the.white.rabbit.studios@gmail.com with answers to these questions AND a link to your online portfolio:

1. What is your name? Who are you? Do you have kids, pets, hobbies, etc.? Tell us the details!

2. Who are your favorite artists — not photographers? Who are your favorite photographers? Why? Basically, what inspires you?

3. What about our work makes you want to work with us?

4. Can you commit to at least the next three months? (It’s fine to have a job/be in school/etc., but we need to know that you’re down for shooting as well.)

5. What is your ultimate photography goal?

Deadline: October 28, 2010 at 10am. Meetings will be scheduled for Friday, November 5, between 12pm and 7pm, so expect to hear back from us by 10pm on October 30.
