Stefanie, Drew, and a baby on the way

We blogged Stefanie and Drew’s “just because” couple’s session around this time last year, and now we’re thrilled to be able to say that these two lovebirds have recently welcomed a bay bird into their lives — Eliza Wren was born on August 24! We’re excited to share those newborn photos, but first, here’s Eliza when she was still a bun in the oven!

Remember when we gave away a session last summer? Natasha and Paul were the winners of the session. Well, little did you guys know, but Natasha was actually pregnant at the time of shooting! She’s due in another week or two, and we’re totally stoked about meeting this little girl or guy! Here’s their maternity session:

Dan and Susan contacted us a few months ago about shooting their maternity session, and then rapidly decided to go with our Maternity+Monthlies package. This means we’ll be taking photos of their sweet baby girl, Caroline, every three months until she’s a year old! Of course, we’re super smitten with this family, and would love to keep seeing them as long as they’ll have us!

Dan and Susan were awesome sports and willing to attempt anything we asked. These photos really show the love, excitement, and sheer joy that the two parents-to-be were experiencing that day.

Oh, Baby: Kelly & Brett’s Music-laced Maternity Session

When Kelly contacted us about a maternity session, we knew it would be a good one. She is so bubbly, positive, and upbeat, and therefore perfectly matched for Ashley and I! She sent us dozens of compliments on past maternity sessions we’ve shot, and we were more than happy about getting the chance to help she and Brett celebrate the impending birth of their daughter, Ivy. Since Ivy is due on July 4, we haven’t met her yet, but we’re looking forward to it!

Both Kelly and Brett are seriously music-savvy, and definitely wanted to incorporate this interest into their session. This combined with their flirty and unique nature helped produce photos that we think are definitely true to them–just the way we like it to be!

I think saying we were excited to see these shirts when Kelly and Brett walked out of the restroom is an understatement! I think they’re the coolest thing, and definitely added personal flair to the maternity session! We told K&B that they had to make one for Ivy and bring her back to get a family shot. The family that rocks together stays together!

Celebrating The Wonder of New Life | Alice & Donald’s Maternity Session

Alice, Donald, and nine-year-old Calvin might just be one of the more quirky, eclectic, and overall delightful and cool families we have worked with! Alice and Donald are expecting their as-yet-unnamed son in March. Ashley and I are more than excited that we not only shot their maternity session, but that the two have also asked us to be present at (and shoot, obviously) the birth of their baby!

This session was shot, (as most of our family sessions are), at the home of the family. Everything–from the yellow paint outside to the flaming red kitchen and black-and-white floor tile–about this house sings love! It was impossible for us to not be completely giddy the entire time we were shooting. The three are also incredibly laid back, which always makes for a pleasant session.

Aren’t ultrasound photos brilliant? I can remember our first ultrasound so clearly, and now we have a nine month old! Time truly flies.

One of Calvin’s jobs is the dishes, hence the wash cloth!

Do you recognize someone? John’s daughter (from the famed and beautiful Jane and John!), and John himself, are friends with the family.

These three snuggle in bed on the weekends and watch movies together, so we all decided this would, naturally, make for great photos.

Waiting for Tyair | White Rabbit Studios | Maternity Photography

Some of the most rewarding sessions either Ashley or I have shot have been with people we know. I met Ateneh when we both worked at a local Ruby Tuesday’s together–she was the hostess, I was a waitress, and we got to know each other that way. We hadn’t spoken frequently since I quit the job in December 2006, but when I moved back to Huntsville last month and discovered she was pregnant, I knew that we had to document the pregnancy!

Luckily, she was in week 35 when I met up with her and her fiancee, Bobby, to shoot the photos. Their son, Tyair, should be here by July 27. We can’t wait to meet him!

Thanks, Ateneh and Bobby! You two are truly beautiful, and I have no doubt that Tyair is going to be one handsome fella!

EDIT: Tyair was born on July 19 at 9:52 AM! He’s totally healthy and perfectly beautiful. Congrats to you three, and we hope to have the pleasure of shooting you again!
