This Saturday (April 21st) my husband and I (along with every music lover) will celebrate Record Store Day at our shop! This worldwide event is now in it’s fifth year, and Vertical House Records has been a part of this awesome holiday since the beginning! While it’s incredible to be able to capture two people in love, this year I’m thanking the Universe for not having to turn anyone down for wedding coverage. You see, this is the first year I will be able to participate! Previously, there has always been a wonderful wedding to lure me away from celebrating. I think it’s a sign that I’ll be exactly where I should be this Saturday – providing our community with a place to gather on Record Store Day!

I was beyond thrilled when the Huntsville Times contacted me asking to do a story on Record Store Day and Vertical House Records. The writer and I thought it would be a wonderful idea to capture the people of Huntsville with one of their favorite records. Last Friday over 60 people came in to get their photo made! While the full story will be running in the Thursday GO! section of the paper, here are some of Huntsville’s finest with their vinyl du jour!

Often times we are incredibly grateful to witness the marriage between two souls, starting with their engagement. Occasionally we are blessed to capture the beginning of a new life. Once we’ve even shot a “do over” session. Annie and Shane came to us with another first for White Rabbit Studios, but it wasn’t until we met with them and chatted before we learned how lucky we were. Shane and Annie have been married for 8 years, and have never had their photos taken – not even when they eloped! Hearing that fact made me actually stop in my tracks and tell them thank you. We are beyond honored to have been the ones to have these two in front of our cameras for their photo debut!

Hanging with the Johnsons

October 21, 2011

We recently spent an afternoon with the Johnsons and it was simply wonderful! We captured Thomas and his family play with trains, giggle with grandparents, and run around with Remy (their dog). Everyone was such a dream to work with and there were smiles all around!

Perhaps you recognize the adorable blonde hair and blue eyed Hugh from his previous sessions with us – and just like before, it’s such a fun time! This time we had the privilege of meeting his equally precious cousins! These three had a blast running around, swinging on fences, finding sticks, and occasionally giving us a squinty smile or silly face!

YOU GUYS! Perhaps you’ve already seen it on facebook, or you’ve already read the newspaper article (here’s an online version)…or if this is totally new to you – get ready! When Noel wants to push the envelope with her career, she goes above and beyond. She’s an artist, and hair is her medium. This time was no exception with the vibrant hues of Catherine’s rainbow ‘do!
