Earlier this year I received an exciting phone call from Southern Bride magazine! I almost couldn’t believe my ears when they asked if I would be interested in photographing the fashion spread for their next issue (now on stands)! For a few days in July, my husband (yay for my second shooter being the love of my life) and I had a wonderful “working” vacation at Gorham’s Bluff. The daylight hours were spent shooting various gowns, bouquets, and jewelry pieces. Once the sun set each evening, everyone sat down to a delicious dinner and marveled at how much we all accomplished.

Anyone in the South knows how crazy the weather can get, especially with Summer storms. A couple of days our afternoon shoots were delayed by heavy downpours. One evening we were scrambling to get a model ready in order catch the fog before it rolled back into the valley. Even when having to “play it by ear”, everyone was so wonderful and professional to work with. We remained ahead of schedule each day, and toasted a glass of wine with each sunset we watched together.

To the staff at Southern Bride, I can’t thank you enough for the opportunity to work with all of you. To say it’s an honor would be an understatement. I hope we cross paths again! Every single person that had a hand in this issue was incredible! The hair, makeup, models, props, styling – everything – was impeccable!
