Candice and Will’s wedding was a perfect blend of their personalities. Everything from Candice’s grand entrance on a horse to Will’s Zelda cake to the swing music that kept heels kickin’ and skirts spinnin’ was absolutely brilliant. While the day started out with a chill in the air the sun shone through during the middle of their ceremony and you could feel the warmth spread. We set up our Looking Glass and you can tell from the video (at the end of this post) just how FUN people have in it!

Jim Hudson is more than a generous man – he’s a kind heart, a warm soul, and an intelligent mind. Together with Lynn their love can light up a room! We were thrilled to capture the magic between them as they tied the knot at (Jim’s own building) The HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology. The building was filled with friends and colleagues and included some of the most brilliant minds of Huntsville.

You readers may not know that Jim Hudson provides such a wonderful gift to the community, and a place we call home to White Rabbit Studios (and Vertical House Records). He owns our beloved Lowe Mill, and we can’t thank him enough for his investment into keeping the arts (and sciences) thriving in Huntsville. Being asked to photograph such an esteemed wedding was above and beyond an honor.

What’s a wedding without a photo booth nowadays?! From the classic black and white shots of an elegant evening, to the sweet messages in The Looking Glass, the night was well rounded with fun!

Steve and Savannah’s engagement session had a nice combination of some of our favorites elements: music, pets, and love! We started at Vertical House Records before dodging cars and jumping fences to a nice spot by the willow trees in the Jones Valley area. Steve and Savannah wanted to include their dog, and with such a cute bow-tie how could we resist?!

I wished on the stars
To throw me a beam or two
I begged on the stars
And asked for a dream or two
I looked for every loveliness
It all came true
I wished on the moon for you

Brandy searched for Billie Holiday’s version of “I Wished on the Moon” for months in hopes to play it as she walked down the aisle. The week of the wedding, she won a 78 copy of the song on ebay. Talk about meant to be! The romantic song echoed among the trees of their intimate, nighttime, backyard wedding as Brandy and Michael tied the knot. After a short and sweet ceremony, yummy food, delicious cake, humorous and tearful toasts, the guests enjoyed an evening of dancing under the stars with Christabel and the Jons (a swanky swing group from Tennessee).

Michael and Brandy had a vision for their wedding since day one. In love with the 30s, Brandy requested the wedding photos to be processed with a vintage, sepia tone. To keep the nostalgia from the night, we wanted to include the song that inspired the wedding. Push play while you scroll through and re-live their starlit soiree!

While we love the romantic vibe from the sepia images, we can’t help but show you some of the lovely color that poured from the details!

So, after getting our tattoos, we met up with Tyler and Matthew for their engagement session! Tyler and Caroline are actually real-life BFFs, so it was fun to see both of them in the same day!

We LOVE Tyler and Matthew (or Maffew, as she affectionately calls him both in real life and on her blog)! These two are getting married next April, and we’re giddy with anticipation for what we’re sure will be a unique and super quirky festival of love.

We started the session on Monte Sano early in the morning, and since it was pretty cold, we took a coffee-tea-and-Scrabble break at Olde Towne Coffee Shoppe. We ended at one of our fave (and soon to be closing! Sad face.) local book shops, Five Point Books. It was really a fun session, especially since Tyler, Ashley and I have become blogging buddies, and we were excited to move our online fun into real life fun!
