Julia and Eric were married a few weeks ago during a sweet church ceremony. The reception followed and took place at Eric’s family’s absolutely breathtaking lake house at Smith Lake. We were very happy to be involved with the day, especially as Ashley and Julia were great friends in high school, so shooting the wedding was like a mini reunion for the two of them!

We wish the two of you all the best! Your love for one another shines through each photo.

Sara and JT were married on October 1 at Monte Sano Lodge in Huntsville on what may have been the most perfect day of the year for their Lord of the Rings inspired wedding! Friends and family gathered wearing festive garments that fit in the Tolkien times. Sara’s gorgeous green gown was custom made and fit her like a glove. For once the groom actually had a more complicated outfit! JT’s boots laced up more than Sara’s dress! All of the fabulous details came together and created such a magical wedding. The weather was flawless (in the 70s and sunny as could be!), and everyone was so incredibly happy to be celebrating the day with these two!

Coral and Bartley are amazing–they were completely prepared for their engagement session, and hit the ground running! Between their dapper ensembles and the sweet locations we were able to get into, this session was completely dreamy. Both of our locations are historic landmarks in Huntsville, and we were so excited at the opportunity to showcase Coral and Bartley’s love!

We began at the historic Russel Erskine Hotel (now an apartment complex) in Huntsville — you might remember it from Mary Lee’s bridal session! We’re quite lucky that Ashley has a bit of a connection with the owners of the hotel, which is how we are able to get in to shoot. After wrapping up there, we moved further into the heart of Huntsville Proper and shot at The Weeden House Museum.

The Weeden House is a fascinating bit of Huntsville that we hadn’t visited for a session before — it was built in 1819, and after going through several years of being a residential home, it is now owned by the city of Huntsville. The Weeden house serves as an illustration of American family life in the 1840′s — and also shares the life of poet and watercolorist, Maria Howard Weeden.

This session made my (Ashley) historic building lovin’ heart happy and the smile never left my face as I snapped away like a kid in the candy store! Thanks to both venues for letting us pop in for the session!

We were thrilled when we first met with Chrissy and Shay–Shay is a magician (for REAL), and Chrissy is a fellow Huntsville photographer, so we knew we would be working with fun people. These two are getting married in October (You guys! SO CLOSE!), and we are, as always, eagerly anticipating the gorgeous wedding day.

Chrissy had to cope with a little jitters (it’s weird being on the other side of the lens!), but after that–our session was smooth sailing! The couple opted to shoot at our favorite spots, Lowe Mill. Since the mill is always evolving, we’re always afforded different backgrounds and locations for every session we shoot there.

Anna and Josh are the COOLEST. Not in comparison to anyone or anything like that, but they are just great people to be around. These two are getting married in a court house ceremony this month, and we couldn’t be happier for them!

Anna and Josh met at the Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, and since Josh still works there, we were able to get in to shoot their engagement session! I need to pause here and mention that Ashley loves space, and I love Star Wars, and the Space and Rocket Center is currently playing host to a huge Star Wars exhibition, so, armed with all of this knowledge, you might be able to imagine how incredibly stoked we were upon entry. Maybe.

Anyway! Back to the stars of the day. We met early in the morning and traipsed around the complex in good spirits. Josh told us little stories about the various happenings at the center as we meandered between rockets and people and spaceships. We visited the Davidson Center and oohed and aahed, snapped some gorgeous photos of this gorgeous couple, and then journeyed back into the main center to complete our day. We (very) happily bumped into a few members of the 501st Legion (Stormtroopers and Sand people!), and then concluded our day outside the Imax theater, which is where Anna and Josh’s romance all began!

If you’re on our Facebook page at all, you’ve already seen a few shots of me with Star Wars characters, but just in case you don’t — we like to have fun during our sessions, too. ;)
