Dear Internet: meet Megan and Brent!

Megan and Brent’s engagement session took place in the Old Town section of Huntsville. We literally spent most of our time on one single street (Pratt, for those of you that are Huntsville-savvy), as very nearly every local store and coffee shop on said street is fantastic. Ashley and I are both fans of all things local and off the beaten path, and Megan and Brent were pretty much down for anything we wanted to try.

The two brought along their gigantic rainbow umbrella, which has a sweet story to it–it was under this very umbrella that they were engaged! So check that out. One of the store we stopped by was Five Point Books, which is where a certain plastic yellow-and-brown dinosaur roams a potted plant or two. Keep your eyes peeled!

We ended the session at a playground right across from Megan and Brent’s home, which was perfect for us–a dash of where-you-are, while-you-are is a key ingredient to a magical White Rabbit Studios engagement session. These two birds were married on May 29 at the Workplay Theater in Birmingham, and their (awesome, music-and-fun heavy) wedding will most definitely be blogged later this month–I’m thinking sometime around that ever-sweet one month anniversary.

Billy and Katie are one of those effortlessly stunning couples–they are outwardly and inwardly beautiful, and very obviously deeply in love. They are getting married on May 8, and we could NOT be more enthusiastic about their impending vows–this is going to be one seriously lovely and loving wedding day!

They claimed to be nervous about the photo session, so I think these two must be naturals!

We began the session at Lowe Mill, starting in Beloved Community Bookstore and then migrated to Ashley and Andy’s recently relocated record store, Vertical House Records.

RIP, E.T. and Michael Jackson. Thank you for the poster!

And of course, our White Rabbit Studios staple shot!

Billy and Katie live four (or so) hours apart, and have done throughout their relationship. One way they kept in touch was via fast and furious emails, and Ashley and I thought it would be cute to pay homage to their digital letter writing in an analogue fashion–at the post office, with a (working!) tin-can telephone!

After leaving the post office, we migrated to Green Mountain. We didn’t know at the time, but Katie’s parents used to go on dates there.

Katie’s parents used to bring a bucket of chicken and watch the sun set–exactly our plan!

Would saying these two are “finger lickin’ good” be too cheesy? Yes? Can I say it anyway?

If you are in the mood for a beautiful love, story, check out Katie and Billy’s story here, and the tale of their engagement here. We were going to try to re-tell it on our blog, but sometimes…the original is just better.

When Kelly contacted us about a maternity session, we knew it would be a good one. She is so bubbly, positive, and upbeat, and therefore perfectly matched for Ashley and I! She sent us dozens of compliments on past maternity sessions we’ve shot, and we were more than happy about getting the chance to help she and Brett celebrate the impending birth of their daughter, Ivy. Since Ivy is due on July 4, we haven’t met her yet, but we’re looking forward to it!

Both Kelly and Brett are seriously music-savvy, and definitely wanted to incorporate this interest into their session. This combined with their flirty and unique nature helped produce photos that we think are definitely true to them–just the way we like it to be!

I think saying we were excited to see these shirts when Kelly and Brett walked out of the restroom is an understatement! I think they’re the coolest thing, and definitely added personal flair to the maternity session! We told K&B that they had to make one for Ivy and bring her back to get a family shot. The family that rocks together stays together!

We shot Sara and Jeremy’s fantastic record store engagement session a few weeks ago and have been looking forward to their wedding ever since! I don’t think Ashley and I could have dreamed up all of the great details these two put into their day! It was truly a day filled with wonder, beauty, and love. We’re so incredibly happy for these two as they begin their life together.

Sara’s dad owns a typewriter store, so they had their pick of the lot! Guests filled up sheet after sheet of paper with good wishes.

Check out these robots! According to the groom, they were mostly thrift store finds. Aren’t the boutineers the cutest?!

Ashley and I were restricted to the balcony during the wedding–however, between us we have plenty of zoom lenses, and were able to get super close without physically being so. In the first you can see about how far away we were, and in the second, how close we can get!

Where to begin? I have known Tiffany and Tyler for quite a few years, and met them independently of one another before they became a couple. Tiffany and I had Spanish together, and I met Tyler through my husband (I think, it could have also been a class). I was actually present at their courthouse wedding, after Tiffany called me that morning and asked if I could bring my self and my camera. I was thrilled to do so, seeing as my husband and I also eloped in a similar fast and madly-in-love fashion.

These two (and Nikki, their adopted greyhound, makes three!) were a true joy to shoot, and Ashley and I are so happy they chose us–they are the true quintessence of White Rabbit Studios! Fun, artistic, flirty, bright, and definitely a bit offbeat–all things we love. And, really, could we have asked for better sunshine? I think not.

Just like little girls and boys
Playing with their little toys
Seems like all they really were doing
Was waiting for you

It’s real love
Yes it’s real, yes it’s real love
It’s real, yes it’s real love…

We chose two different locations–first, the (unfortunately) soon-to-be-closed East Clinton Elementary School, and then we reconvened for a few quick, fun shots (and delicious gelato!) at the ever-fabulous Sam & Greg’s in downtown Huntsville.

From two same-letter couples (Sean & Stephanie, Andy & Ashley) to another–Huntsville will miss you two.
