When Stacy proposed the idea of shooting at the Mountaintop Flea Market and at Zach’s Grandmother’s barn, we were thrilled! We’re both avid flea market fans, and loved the idea of shooting at the barn for all of the historical significance to Zach’s family. One of the rooms in the barn was his dad and uncle’s old hang-out spot — you could still see remnants of their younger years there.

Everything from the bright yellow brick buildings to the gorgeous sun streaming through the barn was perfect. The contagious smiles, good humor and love these share made this session a breeze!

Tyler and Matthew were married at one of our fave local venues, The Summit at Big Spring. We have all been friends for a few months, since we first met at our meeting and fell mutually in love, and hope to be friends with this pair for many, many years to come!

Everything about their wedding day was, as Tyler put it, “ridiculously colorful and fantastic” — right up our alley! We nearly passed out when we walked in and discovered, to our great delight, that Tyler and her gaggle of amazing bridesmaids had spent most of their time folding incredibly delicate and oh-so-magical paper cranes, which were strung from the windows of the building and set out on tables as centerpieces. These incredible DIY touches weren’t the only ones — Tyler blogged two great DIY posts on her blog: decorations & accents, and modern photo booth. Now onto the fantabulous wedding where the color and smiles never stopped!

Their vows were so insanely cute that a gif is in order!

Since this Looking Glass was one of the most rockin’, we decided to make a fun video!

Anna and Ben are one of the sweetest, happiest couples! They rolled with every suggestion we made at their engagement session, which happened to take place on a VERY wild and unruly day. Anna was a champ when the wind blew her hair around! These two have a natural chemistry and excitement that’s contagious — our cheeks were hurting from smiling so much!

Here’s another post from Dana! This time we’re catching you up on her work from a few recent sessions. You can see our original posts: Jim and Lynn’s wedding, Paul and Natasha’s maternity session, and Cooper’s 6 month session.

Jim & Lynn

When Ashley and Stephanie mentioned there would be the chance to shoot another wedding, I jumped at the opportunity. I wanted so much to have the experience again and I didn’t even realize who the bride and groom were going to be. Needless to say when I discovered it was Jim Hudson’s wedding, I felt so privileged to be a part of the event.

Meeting Lynn and Jim and their families was a great experience. The minister mentioned that Jim was a person that saw people not for who they are, but who they can be. Those words hung around in my heart after he spoke them. It was quickly apparent how true these words were by the sincere love and respect the happy couple brought out of their friends and family. These two are in love and so deeply loved by those around them. The entire night was pure joy.

Paul & Natasha

The pregnancy glow is a real thing. I used to joke around when people would comment on my glow when I was pregnant and tell them it felt like a nuclear glow because I was so nauseated. I understand the glowing, though. I felt it internally and I see it radiating in other expectant mothers. Photographing Natasha and Paul was my first attempt at capturing this beautiful energy with my camera as an intern. It was so fun meeting Natasha and Paul and having the opportunity to share in their pre-baby excitement. Natasha and Paul are naturals in front of the camera. Getting the chance to photograph them at this super exciting time was quite an honor. I hope I’ll get to meet their sweet little baby once he or she arrives.

Cooper

I had to move a few babysitting mountains to attend this shoot. There was some juggling involved in getting to the shoot, but I had met Mandy and Joe at Jim and Lynn’s wedding and I couldn’t resist the opportunity to meet their little boy. Joe and Mandy emanate a type of joy that draws people in. The love they share reaches out and touches you. I knew meeting Cooper would be a special experience and that sweet little bean did not disappoint. The time I we spent with Cooper had my giddy baby senses on overload. His sweet puckering sounds echoing throughout their beautiful home made my heart so happy. When I got home and was editing the photos, my own little boy saw Cooper on the screen and started waving to him. Now they will have to be friends.

So, after getting our tattoos, we met up with Tyler and Matthew for their engagement session! Tyler and Caroline are actually real-life BFFs, so it was fun to see both of them in the same day!

We LOVE Tyler and Matthew (or Maffew, as she affectionately calls him both in real life and on her blog)! These two are getting married next April, and we’re giddy with anticipation for what we’re sure will be a unique and super quirky festival of love.

We started the session on Monte Sano early in the morning, and since it was pretty cold, we took a coffee-tea-and-Scrabble break at Olde Towne Coffee Shoppe. We ended at one of our fave (and soon to be closing! Sad face.) local book shops, Five Point Books. It was really a fun session, especially since Tyler, Ashley and I have become blogging buddies, and we were excited to move our online fun into real life fun!
